Menzil is the Ottoman flight discipline, where the only thing being measured is distance. The Turkish flight bow from OKÇUBABA is built for that job and very little else: short limbs, a high brace and enough poundage to send a light flight arrow well beyond normal target range.
The build is maple and high resistance fibreglass in a composite lamination, reinforced to carry draw weights that would flatten an ordinary horsebow. It measures 110cm with a 104cm Fast Flight string and a 19.5cm brace height, and weighs 300g. Maximum draw is 76cm, or 30 inches.
Standard poundage is 50#. Above that OKÇUBABA build to order, and they will take it as far as 130#, so this is a bow you specify rather than pick off a shelf. It ships with a fabric case and a spare string, which is a sensible inclusion given the loads a flight string carries.
One word of warning. Heavy poundage flight bows demand sound thumb release technique and a properly matched arrow, and an underweight shaft on a bow like this is how limbs and fingers get hurt. Keep to the 9 GPP minimum, use a thumb ring you trust, and treat the step up in poundage gradually. This is not a first traditional bow.
Order your Menzil flight bow and find out how far a Turkish bow will really shoot.
