Unstring a bow and the string has two ways to go wrong: it slides off the tip and unwinds its twists, or it wanders off in the bow bag and turns up a week later. The Solkarra Leather String Keeper stops both. The gum leaf cap slips over the top limb tip with the string loop still inside it, the elastic cord runs down the belly of the limb, and the arrow button passes through the string loop lower down and locks it in place. The string stays on the bow, the twists stay in the string, and your brace height is where you left it next time you string up.
Kangaroo leather is the strongest leather there is for its weight, and it is thin and supple with it. The cap sits close over the limb tip, the leather moulds to the shape of your bow within a few outings, and the deep brown finish darkens and softens with handling. Every keeper is handmade in Western Australia from Australian leather, stitched by hand along the leaf and finished with a black elastic cord and an engraved arrow button. The leaf is cut generously and the elastic takes up the rest, so one size suits recurves, longbows and horse bows alike, and the soft leather will not mark a finished limb.
