ABA Traditional Wood Arrows draw inspiration from historic examples of arrows for traditional archery. Each wood arrow is crafted with care and precision by hand. By using premium Port Orford Cedar shafts, turkey feather fletchings, and natural linseed oil, we ensure that our crafted arrows have a stunning natural finish. These traditional wood arrows will look brilliant both in your quiver and on display.

There are 3 different finishes available for these arrows:

• Basic
  A natural linseed finish paired with glue-on wood nocks & brass bullet tips. The nocks and turkey-feather fletchings are wrapped with serving material to tie this design together perfectly.
• Premium
  The same finish as above, including wrapping except they come with self-nocks and the choice of using Longobarda or Aragorn arrowheads.
• Deluxe
  Linseed oil dip, burnt tips, and a finishing coat to tie it all in together. Self-nocks, wrapped fletchings, and Longobarda or Aragorn arrowheads.
• FORGED
  These arrows are our finest option available. The finish is the same as Deluxe, except they use hand-forged traditional arrowheads, made by a local blacksmith from South-West Western Australia. To me, these are simply too beautiful to be shot, but you’re definitely able to do so if you wish…

How They’re Made

Creating traditional wood arrows is an extensive yet satisfying process. We start by straightening and sanding the shaft, a task that often takes an hour or more. Next, we massage the Cedar shafts with linseed oil to protect the wood from moisture and friction, while also giving it a smooth, glossy finish. Once the shafts are prepared and dry, we begin the fletching process.

We take immense pride in crafting traditional wooden arrows, especially since every arrow is made-to-order. This allows us to ensure that each arrow is crafted to perfection.
